Fast and Furious fans are eagerly waiting to watch the ninth instalment of Fast and Furious series. F( is directed by Justin Lin and was scheduled to release in the theatres, this year, in May 2020. Courtesy of the Coronavirus pandemic, the release of the ninth instalment of the Fast and Furious series was postponed to 2021. Now, after F9 star Ludacris sparked rumours a few months back about Dominic Toretto heading into outer space, co-star Michelle Rodriguez confirms the news. Speaking about the same, the Fast and Furious 9 actress mentioned how nobody was supposed to know that.

In an interview with SiriusXM’s The Jess Cagle Show, when Michelle Rodriguez was questioned if she was heading to space in F9 just like her co-star Ludacris, the actress reacted and answered. Michelle said, “Oh, no way. How did you guys find that out? See what happens? People start talking behind the scenes, man. When a movie doesn’t come out and forget about it, things get out. Nobody was supposed to know that," via Just Jared.

As Michelle Rodriguez mentioned how nobody was supposed to know about Fast and Furious 9 heading to outer space, talking about if she is heading to space, the F9 actress added, “Oh, well, no, I’m not, I’m not, I’m not lucky enough to hit space, but we did get a female writer and showed a lot of love, I think, on this one. Thanks to…Justin Lin. We were able to, to find a little bit more attention and love for the girls in the movie. And so I’m really hopeful that that, that shows through in the final product.” Rodriguez mentioned that she is not lucky enough to hit space, but thanked director Justin Lin for bringing a female writer on board.


Moving on, Michelle went on to explain her need for a female writer. Talking about her character in the film, she explained that her character Michelle Letty cannot always be the angry and alpha on-sc screen as it does not look natural and mentioned that a female voice was needed to understand that. Meanwhile, Fast and Furious 9 is scheduled to hit theatres on April 2, 2021. The film stars Vin Diesel, John Cena, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang, Helen Mirren, and Charlize Theron.
